Camping
Our region offers some of the best camping opportunities available in the State of Maine. You'll find campgrounds with gorgeous views of oceans, lakes, and mountains in secluded locations city/town settings. The variety of locations is exceptional and the availability of amenities varies considerably. Most campgrounds are designed for RVs and tents but there are some that are for tents only in very primitive locations. A few welcome pets.
Because of the wide-spread popularity of Acadia National Park, some State Parks, and the special nature of some private campsites it's suggested that you make your reservations early, especially if you have a narrow time frame in which to visit. Most campgrounds close during the winter months although not all. Have fun camping in DownEast & Acadia and be sure to enjoy the many attractions and scenic byways you'll find while you're here.
