Puffins

These cute little birds with their bright orange beaks were once on the brink of extinction, but thanks to several conservation projects they are doing well and nesting on islands in the Gulf of Maine. Several nature tours take visitors close to the puffins' nesting islands to get a look at these popular but shy little fellows.
