Wildlife Watching

DownEast & Acadia is unspoiled nature at its best. Whether you wish to drive along and soak up the scenery in one of our parks, gardens or nature preserves, kayak along the rivers or along the coast you will find nature accessible and breathtaking. For those who wish to fish our waters or hunt in our woods, you will find Registered Maine Guides who can help. (If you are searching these sites, it will help to know that the western portion of our region is Hancock County and the eastern portion is Washington county).

Our envirionment is often as fragile as it is beautiful and we ask that however you choose to enjoy it, please leave no trace, so it will be here the next time you visit and so that future generations will be able to savor it as well.
