Bar Harbor

Located on the more populated eastern half of Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor is its largest town (population 4500) and is home to College of the Atlantic and the leading genetics research center, Jackson Laboratory as well as a historic district on West Street. This tourist haven is a very popular vacation spot with hotels, restaurants and stores appealing to every taste. There are concerts, events and things to do all year round.
