Whitneyville
Whitneyville is tucked away on the Machias River and is a pretty village with a red schoolhouse and a white steepled church, where they hold many community events in summer that are open the public.
Historically, Whitneyville housed the lumber milll that processed the logs from the longest log drive in the east. Canoeing and kayaking on the Machias River are popular activities in the area.
