Lighthouses and Lobsters

Lighthouses and Lobsters are two of Maine's icons. The DownEast & Acadia region has more lobsters than you can count and more than 1/3 of the State's 65 lighthouses. Both seem to have magical powers and draw people to them. Lighthouses, of course, have led many a weary sailor or fisherman to safe harbor in the fog and dark. They dot our coastline as beautiful symbols of our heritage and many still provide much needed navigational aids to our mariners.
